coming up through sales/BD/Mktg. for an organization like Cadence, Synopsis, MetroGraphics, Viewlogic, etc. is also desired. They want someone who
can talk to wall street, VC's and the targeted customer base. It is a
Boston based EDA start-up with technology to advance the design time in chip
manufacturing process.
It's founders are engineers from GE, SUN and Amdahl, and have a series of
new products for the physical design software market. Target customers
include a broad range of chip design users such as siemens, Motorola, Intel,
Fujitsu, NEC, etc. They are in beta testing and will plan to bring on a CEO
to take them public.
Ideally, a candidate would have already served as CEO prior as well as
played a role as head of marketing, sales and/or Bus Dev. for a large
technology company.
Client: Our client is a venture funded start-up electronic design
automation software company focused on today's ASIC/ASSP design processes
that is headquartered in Boston, MA. The three co-founders have extensive
engineering management experience in the semi-conductor industry with both
large and small companies.
Purpose of Position: To provide leadership for the company's strategic
direction and market penetration and playing a key role in new product
development, client relationships, and profitable corporate revenue growth.
Responsible for creating and driving a winning corporate culture while
building an outstanding senior executive team. Manage all corporate
operations/functional roles/budgets as well as lead all future rounds of
fund raising.
Qualifications: Demonstrated success in managing P&L in a semi-conductor
company or business unit.
*Expertise in complete product development process from concept to
manufacture to market.
*Proven success in tactical and strategic BD leadership.
*Ability to expand business.
*Ability to communicate customer requirements within the company.
* Solid experience in software technology in a sales, marketing and business
development role.
*Hands-on management style with proven team development experience.
*Demonstrated career growth in both large and small engineering driven
semi-conductor company environments.
*Experienced with Board of Directors and VC's.
*Has experience dealing with banks and investment banks.
*Has marketing, PR, branding experience.
*Has rolodex of key executives at leading EDA and semi-conductor firms.
*Has a positive reputation in semi-conductor industry.
*Highly intelligent.
*minimum 4 year college degree plus advanced degree in related sciences or
MBA.
